Selfish Ambition......

What exactly is selfish ambition??

Definition : to be self-seeking and always looking out for one's own interests above the interests of anyone else.

It's very easy to fall into this trap. 

Examples can be :

• When we are intending on helping someone out but we want the praise and recognition for it. 
• When we are completing a task and feel offended when we don't receive a thank you. 
• When we say yes to doing something but knowing that it'll help us in the long run anyway, so we don't actually say yes because we want to do it but we only say yes simply for the benefit it'll give us in the long run.

This can lead to very corrupt behaviours, deceit, pain of both others and of ourselves. In short, the end results won't look good.

Look what Paul has to say about this :

"Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too."

Philippians 2:3-5

So let us think on this more and more over the coming days and ask God to give us opportunities to put this into practice so He may work this change within us.
