"For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved."
I would really like to continue with this topic this week before moving on to the next part of what Love is.
The verse above is very deep. Remember the verse I spoke about yesterday in the post? :
"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him."
Hebrews 11:6
When I compare both verses, or rather relate both verses, it makes sense. Belief runs deep into our soul, it can't be superficial and taken lightly. Belief makes a person confident even when everything around them says a big NO.
Belief causes a person to be so confident it becomes contagious to everyone else around them. Belief changes a person's demeanor, their actions, even their way of speaking!
It is not enough to simply state that I believe in the promises of God. Look at what the Romans 10:10 says above :
1. Firstly, believing in my heart.....meaning I am fully convicted, completely assured, no doubts whatsoever, confident in my belief.
2. Then I openly declare it with my mouth......
These are the steps to be made right with God. My words have to be true, from deep within me. Confessing what I don't truly believe will make absolutely no difference in my life, even if I shout it at the top of my lungs, stomping my feet and clapping my hands.
I have to truly BELIEVE it first!
